“The gardens of Chaumont-sur-Loire: historic gardens, contemporary gardens, art gardens”
with Chantal Colleu-Dumond, director of the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire and of the Festival des jardins. Presented by Moritz Mantero, President of Orticolario. The moderator is Emanuela Rosa Clot, editor of Gardenia.
Event in French, with simultaneous translation into Italian.
Located less than two hours from Paris and open all year round, the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire, with its fairytale atmosphere, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape and dominates the Loire, with an incredible view of the river and its unspoiled nature.
A historical park, the Valley of the fog, the Goualoup meadows, an experimental garden, permanent and ephemeral, historical and contemporary gardens. Everything here is constantly changing.
This extraordinary site is the setting of the Festival International des Jardins, a creative laboratory and gardening observatory in the world.
In 30 seasons more than 850 gardens have been created, representing the prototypes of tomorrow.
A forge of ideas and a breeding ground for talents, the Festival revitalizes the art of the garden, always in search of new species, new materials, original ideas and innovative approaches.
Internationally renowned since 1992, the Festival International des Jardins celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.
Since 2008, Chaumont-sur-Loire has also been a Centre for Contemporary Art: it hosts a hundred artistic creations and installations related to nature and celebrates its 15th anniversary.
