Villa Antica, Central hall
“Abito narrante”
“Narrating dress”
Taking a dress from the closet and hanging it in a corner of the house just before putting it on: a frame of a normal moment, even trivial, practically invisible in anyone’s life, on an ordinary day.
But for the very young giantess Daphne it is not an ordinary day, it is an important day, the day of her debut in society.
She is about to put on the most beautiful dress, woven and sewn overnight, on the top of a hill not far from here.
Daphne hung it in the central hall of the Villa Antica.
It is gigantic and is a contemporary symbol of the rites of passage in archaic cultures, which for millennia have populated fairy tales giving rhythm to the life of each of us.
