On the 28th April the award sculpture “Foglia d’oro del Lago di Como” (Lake Como Golden Leaf) is brought back to Villa Carlotta, opening the Orticolario ninth edition.
“La Foglia d’oro del Lago di Como” is a curvaceous glass vase in which floats a golden leaf decorated with gold 24k which has been specifically crafted for Orticolario by Gino Seguso and its historical glassmaker-firm, Vetreria Artistica Archimede Seguso, in Murano (Venice). It is the award assigned, during Orticolario, to the winner of the International Competition “Creative Spaces” that is addressed to garden and landscape designers, architects, designers, artists and nurserymen.
Every year, in April, the awarded returns the sculpture, guarded till the following edition of the event.
This year the Japanese landscape designer, winner of the 2016 Orticolario edition with the garden Spazio Floema “Vedere con le orecchie, ascoltare con gli occhi”, Satoru Tabata will oversee the return cerimony with Gino Seguso, Shinichi Nakatsugawa, Japanese Consul General in Milano, Moritz Mantero, Maria Vittoria Bianchini, president of Villa Carlotta,Vaprio Zanoni and local institutions.
The event will take place on Friday 28th April, at 11.00 a.m in Villa Carlotta (Tremezzina, Como).
The award will be exhibited near the Golden Book, where the competition winners’ names have been written since 2013.
The visitors of Villa Carlotta could admire it till Orticolario 2017 that will take place in Villa Erba (Cernobbio, Como) from 29th September to 1st October 2017
